Hi I am Eulyce Arkleysmith. I am the Granddaughter of Elizabeth Datlen (1864)who married John Ulrick Ransom. in 1888 Elizabeth was the eldest child of Charles Walter Marlow Datlen and Jane Charlotte Castle.

I live in Australia on a property in the Central Tablelands of New south Wales Near Bathurst. I trained a a Speech Pathologist and have now retired from that profession. We run Merino Sheep and Angora Goats and have on occasions run Cattle. We also have horses, and give retirement to R.D.A. Horses when they are too old or become stale. We used to run the angoras as a stud but have retired from doing so and have only a commercial flock now.

I have taken on many interests as a volunteer and last month(April) my husband and I were nominated as joint Volunteer of the month for Bathurst. I hold and OAM which is the Australian equivalent of the OBE.

We have three Adult children. Kierstan, who plays Viola in the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra Trent  who runs the Von Trolley Quartet based in Vienna and Ilisa who is a school teacher and is married to a musician. Coincidentally, Ilisa went to school with a Datlen but did not knowat the time  he was  related . We have 5 grandchildren.
